As you have failed to exculpate yourself

to the satisfaction of the Governor from the charge of drunken- -ness formulated in my letter of the 28th, April last, i am directed to apprise you that the question of your suspension will be brought before the Executive Council at a meeting to be held at 2.80 p.m. on the 3rd. instant at which you will be al- -lowed to appear before the Council and defend yourself.

in any witnesses are examined by the

Council, you will be allowed to be present and to out questions

on your own behalf.
